Fascism - Urbanism - Aesthetics

Fascism - Urbanism - Aesthetics

How are cities sensed and made sense of at a time when extreme right is on the rise and the far-right has become increasingly mainstream? In this talk I discuss an aesthetic framework to explore fascism as an ideology, fascism as a reactionary mass movement, and different forms of micro-fascisms, which I then relate to urbanism as a science, as a way of life, and as an ideology. This discussion contributes to a more complex analysis of the porous boundary between historical fascism and liberalism in practice and becomes the starting point for a project of decolonising urban aesthetics.
